What is Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is an engineering discipline concerned with systems and devices whose charactewristic dimensions are less than 1000 nanometers. The size of the matter in nano scale is equivalent to 1/100,000 th of the width of human hair.

This is an interdisciplinary field that derives from fundamental sciences such as physics, molecular chemistry, material science and engineering sciences such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and biotechnology.

The domains of applications of Nanotechnology include medicine, energy industry, communication & information technology, consumer goods, and mechanical & aerospace industries.
